The 32-chamber controlled atmosphere cold storage project located in Gangdui Town, Gonggar County, Shannan City, Xizang, has finished construction with all CA equipment installed. The plateau region features large temperature differences between day and night and long transportation distances. Local specialty fruits and vegetables face great preservation difficulties after harvest. Conventional storage often causes moisture loss and rot losses, restricting the export of agricultural goods.
This project is equipped with a complete professional controlled atmosphere system, which precisely regulates the concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide inside storage rooms to restrain respiratory metabolism of fruits and vegetables, delay ripening and senescence, and greatly cut storage losses. The 32 independent CA rooms support separate control, enabling classified storage for various plateau agricultural products and flexible adjustment of storage parameters for different crops.
Plateau projects have strict requirements on equipment stability and performance under low atmospheric pressure. The full set of CA equipment has undergone special adaptation and commissioning to adapt to the unique plateau environment of Xizang. After completion, local harvested specialty fruits and vegetables can achieve long-term preservation, extend sales cycles, break geographical and seasonal sales barriers, allow off-season sales of plateau farm products, increase added value, and raise income for local farming and animal husbandry industries.
