Litchi is famous for rapid quality deterioration after harvest: peel discolors in one day, aroma fades on the second day, and taste changes on the third day. It features strong post-harvest respiration and fast peel browning, making it a well-known difficulty in fruit preservation. Ordinary cold storage can only slow down spoilage for a short time and hardly preserve the commercial appearance of branch-attached litchi, which hinders long-distance foreign trade transportation and off-season sales.
This preservation test adopts KEDA full-set CA controlled atmosphere storage system. Our CE and ISO9000 certified equipment includes gas analyzer, ethylene remover, ultrasonic humidifier, CO₂ remover and other units. The system dynamically adjusts the concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide inside the warehouse, controls temperature and humidity simultaneously, restrains fruit respiration, reduces ethylene accumulation, slows peel browning and suppresses microbial growth.
After more than 20 days of sealed storage, the litchis were released from the warehouse. The branches and leaves remain green, fruits keep plump red and yellow color without large-area browning or rot, and the flesh retains original taste and flavor. The test result proves that controlled atmosphere storage technology can effectively extend the preservation period of litchi, delivering a mature and feasible technical solution for cross-border export and longer sales window of litchi.

As a manufacturer and supplier of CA controlled atmosphere storage system certified by CE and ISO9000, KEDA provides one-stop service including CA warehouse overall design, complete equipment manufacturing and installation. Our equipment is suitable for storing many high-value fruits and vegetables such as litchi, grapes and durian. We help global customers reduce post-harvest losses of fresh fruits and expand overseas fresh fruit trade markets.
