With the booming fresh produce industry in Southeast Asia, Malaysia sees growing demand for advanced long-distance preservation equipment for durian and other tropical fruits. Standard reefer containers only rely on low temperature cooling without gas regulation. During long ocean voyages, fruits keep active respiration and accumulate ethylene, which easily leads to over-ripening and rot with high waste rate.
The two controlled atmosphere containers delivered this time are integrated with intelligent CA control units to independently adjust gas composition inside the chamber, breaking the limitation of simple low-temperature storage. The system actively reduces oxygen concentration and absorbs excess carbon dioxide to suppress ethylene production and slow down postharvest ripening. It is ideal for climacteric fruits such as durian, mango, mangosteen and avocado for sea transport, greatly extending the preservation window.
Full tests including air tightness, pressure balance and gas adjustment were completed before delivery to guarantee stable performance under the hot and humid marine climate of Southeast Asia. After commissioning, the units will serve the local fresh supply chain and support Malaysia's fruit export business. This shipment marks another key step for us to expand the CA equipment business across Southeast Asia. We will keep supplying controlled atmosphere containers, intelligent CA integrated machines, ethylene removers and one-stop preservation solutions for regional clients.
